Myths about the beauty of Russian women
We have heard that Russian women are the most beautiful in the world. This is what they broadcast on TV and on the Internet in Russia. A magazine for travelers, Travelers Digest, decided to conduct a study to find out: is the claim that Russian women are beautiful - a myth or reality? In a survey, the magazine found that most of the beautiful women actually live in Amsterdam. This may be due to the fact that Amsterdam has bicycles than cars, and therefore Dutch women are very slim and athletic. In second place were Israeli women. According to respondents, Israeli women have sad and very expressive eyes. In third place were women from Canadian Montreal. It seems that the girls of this city captivate by their French charm. The largest number of winners of "Miss Universe" was born in Venezuela. And Russia took the middle place in the ranking of beauties. But the researchers noted that "you can meet more beautiful women in Moscow subway than in the entire United States. Russian girls are attracted by the natural blond color of their hair and blue eyes.
Hunters money?
And yet not everyone likes Russian women. Many American and European men accuse them of excessive mercantilism, lust for money, vulgarity and accessibility. And there are opinions like: "They would sell their souls for brand-name clothes, all as one dye blondes and do not wash off the war paint, even at home. Russian girls acquired an unflattering reputation in the early nineties, when not very decent Russian women were trying to escape abroad at all costs. Russian women still suffer from this image to this day. Natalya has been living in the U.S. for five years, and she admits that she rarely talks about her Russian ancestry when she meets somebody. She tells: "Russians have a very bad reputation here, a lot of men think Russian girls are (easy). As soon as you say that you are Russian, they start flirting right away. I can spot a Russian woman in a crowd 99% of the time. Most are dressed garishly and defiantly. And Russians also look down on the locals and speak disparagingly of Americans, saying that they are stupid. Who could possibly like that? You have to break through stereotypes all the time. It takes time to make friends with Americans and prove that you're a normal person.
Russian women are clever and beautiful
However, the fact remains that many Russian women do enjoy a great deal of popularity with Europeans and Americans. Russian women themselves believe that Western women who accuse them of vulgarity are just jealous of them. Patronizing Russian beauties, they sing songs about how Russian women are an amazing combination of intelligence, beauty, efficiency, and caring. Americans also have a sober calculation: Russians are rarely spoiled by the American disease of feminism, they don't "wield their rights," they are kind and easy-going. Marina, who emigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine, says: "I was initially prepared for the fact that I would get a lot of attention. I was told about it. I think it's not just about looks and self-care, I think Russian and Ukrainian women are more open, easier to make contact. In the former Soviet Union there are deliberately very few normal men, so girls are used to always looking their best and paying attention to men.
Russian beauties are a marketing ploy by marriage agencies.
There is an opinion that the myth of Russian beauties has been spread by the owners of marriage agencies in order to successfully develop their business. They promise Eastern European beauties a comfortable life and rich suitors. Men are promised supermodels who are not corrupted by emancipation, who like cooking and giving their husbands massages. In reality, things often turn out quite differently - Russian beauties from marriage agencies turn out to be hunters for American passports and money, and Western suitors are losers whom local women pay no attention to. Dmitri, an immigrant from Belarus who has lived in the U.S. for several years, shares his impressions: "Russian beauties are a myth created out of mercantile considerations. I have noticed that a Russian wife on the ad is a good wife for three years until she gets her papers. Women are willing to put up with a lot because of documents. Russians are not so popular anymore. Americans prefer Vietnamese and Thai women more and more - they don't throw money around, they respect the man more.
Politeness is not molestation.
Western society is more open than Russian society. People on the streets are much friendlier. Smiling at a stranger or a stranger, asking how you are, is the order of the day. But many Russian women take American friendliness at their own expense. If people smile at them, it means they are being flirted with.
Student Olga Zerkova, who spent the summer in America, said: "I do not think that because I get more attention here, in America, I have become more beautiful. Men here pay me compliments out of politeness, ask me about my business. I think it all comes from the American mentality. In general, I don't think Russian women are the most beautiful. There are a lot of stylish, interesting women in Manhattan, it's nice to look at them...". However, many Russian women mistake common courtesy for advances and even molestation. John, the promoter of one of the New York clubs, says: "To be honest, Russian women can be real snobs sometimes. Often they feel like everyone is hitting on them. In one of the clubs, a Russian woman cut her finger, I helped her, and she left without even saying goodbye, as if I had made her an indecent proposal. But in general I like Russian women, they are very elegant and stylish. True, sometimes they can be very demanding. They rarely smile, always as if in a shell, but if you break that shell, they are the best, soulful. Generally Russian women in New York are very different. Still, most of them today stop making a cult of appearance and don't consider nationality their superiority. Russian women have already survived such a disease as brand mania, they travel a lot, talk to people openly, and are not very different from their American, Dutch, French, or English women.
